Matt Brown is a cinematographer living in Chicago, IL. Originally from Knoxville, TN, Matt studied Photography as a Fine Art under the Guggenheim Fellow Mike Smith at East Tennessee State University. He’s been a member of the Chicago film community since 2012, and a member of Local 600 - The International Cinematographer’s Guild - since 2016. He worked his way up in the camera departments on shows such as Chicago Med, Justified: City Primeval, and The Bear. In 2024 he shot the feature film Kombucha for Take Care Productions. He loves the photography of Andrea Modica, the films of Krzysztof Kieślowski, the music of Jason Isbell and cooking North Carolina-style BBQ.

His photography has been featured in Seeing Appalachia and Lenscratch.
